What advice would an experience mom give to a first time mommy? I know everyone always says "expect the unexpected." Having a baby will be unlike anything you will ever experience, and will have no clue of what you’re getting yourself into until the day you actually deliver your baby.
Remembering to when I had my first child, I was very nervous, anxious, excited and all of the emotions you can think of going through my mind. I was so overwhelmed with everything, and I was very fortunate enough to have my families there to support me. To all new moms out there "accept all the help you can get."
It can be hard with all the sleepless nights due to feedings and diaper changing, but if someone offers to watch your baby for even half an hour to one hour take it and go to sleep. It will help you regain your energy back especially if you are nursing. Also, take time to bond with your baby, have a one on one moment and get to know your baby. Stock up on diapers, wipes, Kleenex.
You will need them when you get the post-partum blues. Also, buy a camera with a memory card for those Kodak moments with your baby. The sleepless night will eventually come to an end. Treasure and cherish the moments because it doesn't last forever. Good luck to all new moms!
